English for beginners

I tried to chat in english this week. I didn't understand hardly anything... They wrote lot of things like these:
hows u, how r u, ty pal, wd, lol, any1, bbe n 2 tke, i pm u, etc.
I'm just working hard to practise my english. I've just begun to think that I'm advanced, and they trampled my self-respect to dust.
